CES 2009

January 9th, 2009

Hi!

CES is great!  I streamed Steve Ballmer’s keynote address from last night. Steve presented Microsoft’s 3-screen vision which maps perfectly to LiveCLIQ’s 2-way, 3-screens application platform.  As for the rest…what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas…

iPhone Cheats Review

December 16th, 2008

Here’s another cool app for the Apple iPhone: LiveCLIQ, an app that lets you record videos and then either upload or stream them to the LiveCLIQ website.

To do that, you just need to record a video using LiveCLIQ and then sync it. You can even record a few videos and then sync them all at the same time. Once they’re synced, you can choose to upload or stream them to the LiveCLIQ website at livecliq.net.

The app works with both the original iPhone and the iPhone 3G (as well as a host of other mobile phones). You can download it for free through Cydia, but you’ll have to sign up for an account on the LiveCLIQ website in order to start using it.

LiveCLIQ brings video streaming and recording to the iPhone

November 20th, 2008

Another good review from the folks at iPhone Blog

“To record a video, simply tap the “record” button. It will start recording instantly and show the time on the screen. Once you’ve finished recording, simply tap “stop” and you will now have the choice to give a custom title, tags and streaming preferences to your video. Tap “done” to save the video.

Now if you want to upload this video to LiveCLIQ’s servers, simply tap “sync”, then select what videos you want to upload and choose “sync selected” or “sync all” to start uploading. You have some sort of yellow status bar showing on your screen while syncing, so you know where you’re at in the uploading process. It tool only 1 minute to upload the 1.48 min video that you can see below. I mean, uploading the same video from my PC to YouTube would have taken at least 5 minutes, including processing time. Once uploaded, the videos show in your LiveCLIQ account, a la YouTube, for everyone to watch.

LiveCLIQ also allows you to stream your videos. I tried this too and I was also positively impressed as there was only a 3-4 second delay between what I was filming and the live stream on my PC. I have only tried this over Wifi though, and I doubt it is that fast over Edge or even 3G.

Overall, I am very satisfied with this application.”

Nice Review from Apple iPhone School

November 20th, 2008

Nice review - i guess they liked the recording feature - we like it too!

Ok, now for the fun part. To record a video, you just select the record option. You will see the time start above the preview image. It will be recording both video and audio (as long as you don’t have Mute selected). Once you are finished recording, just select Stop. Now you will have the option to change the Title of the video, add tags to the video and choose whether or not you would like that video to be public or private. Once you have entered all the info, select Done in the upper right corner.

Once you have recorded a video (or two or three) you can select the Sync option. Here you can either sync all your videos at once or select the specific videos you would like to upload. You can also delete your videos from this menu as well. Your videos do not actually upload to livecliq.net until you have synced them. So, once you select the videos you would like to sync, select Sync Selected (or Sync All). It will then begin to upload your videos to livecliq.net. It will display orange lines on the screen indicating it’s progress.

Ok, now for the Live Streaming part of the application. When you select Stream it will start to stream directly to livecliq.net. After testing, I did find that it was a little delayed (which is expected) but it definitely was streaming live to the website.

Read the rest of the review here (BTW we fixed the registration issue they are referring to in the review)

This interview with Mario Orasche (our lead investor) is in German, but basically states that Eagle Ventures is very smart and LiveCLIQ is very awesome (in so many words).

Der Österreicher Mario Orasche investiert mit seiner VC-Gesellschaft Eagle Ventures in erster Linie in ICT-Companies aus Zentral- und Südosteuropa.
